There is a comfortable, bright, relaxing feel to the dining room, with its ornate friezes and architrave's.
It features a lovely painting of the harbour at dawn and some dramatic photographs of a recent winter storm with waves cascading over the sea walls.......
There are two fascinating, Royal Air Force aerial photographs of Mevagissey taken in the fifties and sixties, showing
Buckingham House both before and after the modern extension.
Also displayed is a unique collection of porcelain plates depicting Mevagissey in the olden days........
Guests tend to linger in the dining room for reasons beyond its decor and comfort..... There are three separate tables for our guests, two for couples and one larger table for families.......
Breakfast is a feast and neither will vegetarians go hungry!
There is always a large bowl of fruit, a range of six cereals and yoghurts & copious amounts of Orange Juice, Tea, Coffee, Toast, Jam & Marmalade.
The "full monty" on top of that is not for the faint hearted........
Cumberland Sausage & Best Farm Bacon, Hash Brown, Egg (poached, fried, scrambled or boiled) and a combination of Tomatoes, Mushrooms and Baked Beans
Much of this is cooked on the master chef grill, which gives the egg, bacon and mushrooms an oil free, natural, barbecue taste...... To wash all that down, a nice cup of premium chilled water is available from the cascade springs dispenser.
