I couldn’t help but want to get to know both characters and root for them and their love story and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough when learning of their dilemma. I have no idea what about this book appealed to me, but I sure am glad that I added this one to my wishlist. This uplifting and challenging book will liberate believers from the despair and frustration of feeling that God asks us to do the impossible.There are a lot of people to keep track of in this story since both worlds have some version of most people in them. It is a story that took me on a real rollercoaster of emotions, from heartache to joy, from despair to hope – and the ending was just perfect, making me desperate for the next book in this trilogy. My receipt of a review copy from the publisher did not impact the expression of my honest opinions above.

There’s also a strong romance storyline to the novel with the blossoming relationship between Zach and Lucy. Also, as someone who gets real tired of novel-length metaphors real fast, it’s nice to get a modicum of reassurance right at the start.O’Brady’s pursuit of a goal that had eluded many others was made even more intense by a head-to-head battle that emerged with British polar explorer Captain Louis Rudd—also striving to be “the first. There are quite a lot of supporting characters, again many of whom are rather eccentric, such as the whole group of Berenstains/Berensteins, but they do add colour to the story with some engaging dynamics.

Lotz perfectly balances the heavy with the light, and creates a feeling of genuine connection between her protagonists.

Personally, I was aware of the twist to this story going in, and it was what drew me to read the book, as the notion sounded rather different from the average rom-com. Once they realize how much they like each other, how they seem to mesh so well, they change their minds and try to meet up.
